In Gaza, 97% of water is contaminated and unfit for human consumption. Sadly, today the entire population of Gaza still struggles to access clean water. In fact, 12% of child deaths are linked to contaminated water. Gaza’s over 2 million populates depend on one single aquifer for water, which is contaminated by nitrates, saltwater and sewage. UHR delivers safe clean water to over 35000 people every week in the Gaza Strip in response to the worsening water crisis.With the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the people of Gaza need access to safe and clean water now more than ever.
