UHR’s Response: Empowering Families Through Housing Solutions, a Community Center and Access to Clean Water

Today, the world is witnessing unprecedented levels of displacement. With conflict raging on in countries like Syria, the displacement crisis is being recognized as one of the biggest challenges of the twenty-first century. The worsening situation is increasing the pressure on the housing markets in hosting countries, resulting in rental inflation and higher rates of eviction.

There has been a substantial and continuing increase in the number of Syrian refugees living in extremely poor conditions.

UHR’s Response: Empowering Families Through Housing Solutions, a Community Center and Access to Clean Water

In partnership with Gift of Kindness, UHR aims to help transform the lives of ninety plus Syrian refugee families by relocating them from makeshift shelters into durable concrete homes. Each home will consist of two rooms, toilet, and kitchen.

With the support of our generous donors, UHR was able to raise enough funds to build 60 homes, a community center (CC) and two water wells that will be connected to all the homes providing running water 24/7, and a playground for children. The construction of the houses, water wells and community center has already kicked-off.

We are now appealing to our donors to help us raise funds to cover the cost of building 30 more homes. The cost of each home is $4,500.

Our program will target those who are less fortunate and have been living in tents and make-shift homes for years. This program will strengthen the efforts to meet the refugee communities’ longer-term needs.

If you wish to support our work, please DONATE HERE, our refugee program will serve over 1,000 individuals directly affected by the Syrian conflict. Syrian refugees on the Turkish/Syrian border.
